If the value of your home has fallen, the federal government’s Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) or the FHA Short Refinance Program may provide you with additional refinancing options.
The deadline to apply for a refinance under the current HARP program is September 30, 2017 and the deadline to apply under the FHA Short Refinance Program is December 30, 2016. Call the CFPB at (855) 411-CFPB (2372) to be connected to a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing counselor who can talk to you about your options today.
